Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Escape from the ordinary to travel with a preschool class to places around the world with the adventurous books of Jack and Annie. I teach a preschool class in a low income neighborhood of second language learners who would benefit from a rich and exciting reading series.

All of our classroom books and materials had to be thrown away due to a rat infestation under the classroom. The books were contaminated by poisons and we would like to create a new library and CD collection of stories using the Magic Tree House Chapter Books. The children were very captivated by these tales until we had to leave our classroom and materials behind. They are always asking to continue with new adventures.

The classroom needs the Magic Tree House books and CD collection to foster fun and magical travels while learning the basics of geography and time periods. The books will provide an avenue to lengthen the attention span of my students while developing an increasing awareness of details and vocabulary in stories by reading a chapter or two a day.

Your help will provide an incredible opportunity for the preschool children to participate in the adventurous travels with Jack and Annie, the characters in the Magic Tree House story collection.
