Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My learners walk into our classroom every day with a zest for life, eager to learn about the world around them, and excited to grow their minds. We start each and every day saying "I am strong, I am smart, and I can be successful today!" They believe they can accomplish anything.
It is my goal that they continue to view themselves as capable, smart, and amazing individuals.
I teach at a Title 1 school where many of my learners lack the ability and funds to access community events, cultural experiences, and learning materials for home. Despite all of this, my learners are excited to experience and learn about the world around them and how to be successful, kind, and caring individuals.
My Project
Learners will use these iPads everyday to learn and explore the world. They will have the opportunity to research what our solar system looks like, habitats around the world, what a symphony is, when dinosaurs roamed the earth, as well as, access multiple online libraries with books and math resources.
This will allow my learners to access the world around them with out ever leaving the classroom.
By understanding how to access technology to learn, they will have the opportunity to dream big, connect with others, and begin to imagine their purpose for the world and how to contribute to its success.
