Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach some of the most amazing 4th-grade students at a Title I school in Greenville, South Carolina. At our school we believe that “Every Student Counts and Every Moment Matters!” This is my first year teaching 4th grade and I absolutely love working with my students. They are such a diverse group of students that come from a variety of ethnic backgrounds.
My students are such a sweet and eager to learn group of kids!
Our students come from a high poverty area, but their families are very hard-working and supportive of their children's education! It is such a joy to work with them! Most of the families live within walking distance of school and walk to and from school. It amazes me how much they put into the education of their children and how wonderful they are to work with!
My Project
My students are such an eager to read group of students! They love exploring many different kinds of books. One of our class traditions is sharing books and words of acceptance. This would be an awesome opportunity to tie in great skills with a fantastic novel! With all of our discussions and the popularity of the movie coming out, my students are dying to read the novel A Wrinkle In Time! I would love to give them the opportunity to read, learn, and enjoy this amazing novel! With your help, I can give them this opportunity and help create a classroom culture of love and creativity!
