My Students

My class is a diverse group of 6th grade students. They love learning new things and learning about what is going on outside of their community. Many of my students speak more than one language.

My students are inquisitive, caring, and open minded.

The students are eager to experience new things. Many do not travel outside of their city. One example is a field trip we take for team building at the beginning of the year. We go to a Ropes Course where the students have to use a compass to find their way through the forest. This is a challenge for some, because they have never been in the forest before. It is wonderful to see them succeed and enjoying the experience.

My Project

These atlases will help my students to explore the world. They will have a better understanding of where current events are happening in relation to where they live. Students will be able to really understand the concepts we are teaching them about why people live where they live.

Students will be inspired to set goals that include traveling outside of their neighborhood, city and state.

Students will have a better understanding of how their lives are impacted by the events that happen in other parts of the world. Students will be able to share their knowledge with their family and friends.
