Transitioning From Analog to Digital Photography and Photo Book Publishing
My students need 3 Apple iMac MNDY2LL/A 21.5 Inch, 3.0GHz Intel Core i5, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD, Silver updated computers for Digital Photography and Photo Book Publishing, to replace existing outdated computers.
Creative, enthusiastic and highly motivated, my photography students are excited to transition from analog (darkroom) photography into digital, photoshop manipulation and professional printing.
Students are excited about their community and neighborhoods, near and far as sources of inspiration to explore through their camera lens.
Students are creating a portfolio for college and career. They juxtapose two languages, analog and digital photography. They are developing both a physical portfolio as well as an online Google Drive accessible one.
My students are a culturally and economically diverse group of New York City artists. They collaborate well, teach and learning from each other as well as myself. The room is electric with their excitement for photography.
My Project
Updating our ten year old plus Mac computers with more memory and current Photoshop and Indesign applications will permit students to better and more efficiently process the digital and film scanned images, creating striking photographic prints for their portfolios, photo book publishing, and for college and career.
We utilize computers to process photographs daily in my classroom.
But many of our computers are so outdated that students are frustrated because they are too slow or not working effectively. The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a "home." In other words, I know exactly where everything will go. We just need your help in getting everything through our door!
