Help me give my students art supplies of vibrant glitter tempera paint, Crayola air dry clay, and Wikki Stix to build their fine motor skills while creating art.
We are a school wide TK program that provides positive educational and social experience that prepares students for kindergarten, and life. We are a play-based school, allowing our students the time to explore their environment, enhance their curiosity and imagination through play. Our school motto is, Play Is The Way In TK.
Fred Rogers said, "Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning.
But for children, play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood." At our school, we have a garden for the children to learn about plants and insects. They go outside to play three times a day, allowing them to develop their social skills and gross motor skills. I have a science lab in my classroom. Their favorite science exploration is the magnates because the magnates can float and jump.
My Project
Before we walk we crawl, and before we write we draw. In transitional kindergarten my pre-writers are artists, designers, and creators. They love to color, paint, glue, and cut. I love to give them the opportunity to explore their creative talents. They create polar bears and penguins for their Arctic unit, caterpillars and butterflies for their life cycle unit, love monsters and hearts for our friendship unit, and flowers and trees for our plant life cycle unit. To celebrate their creations, every year my school district assembles the Festival of Arts, which showcases one peace of art from every student in the district. It's a big deal when my students to proudly show their parents their art work, mounted and displayed at the art show.
Your donation for glitter paint, Crayola air dry clay, and Wikki Stix will allow my kids to explore different art mediums.
Both the Wikki Stix and the Crayola clay will allow my students to build fine motor skills while being creative. My students will be very excited to create different animals and bowls using the air dry clay. They will then be able to paint their creations with the glitter paint. The Wikki Stix are great for 3D art and building their letters. These supplies are a great way for kids to enjoy learning.
