My students need additional books for our leveled library. They are reading at a higher level. They also need wobble seats, beanbag refill, and a new pencil sharpener. These items will spruce up our classroom!
My students are young inquiring minds that need resources to become global learners. They are a diverse group and excited to work as a team. Our school is one of four C.F. I. Magnet Schools in the Indianapolis Public Schools. We are focused on inquiry based learning through reading and writing workshop. Part of our mission is to develop socially responsible citizens in a changing global society. Our urban setting allows for multicultural experiences in our immediate neighborhood and beyond. My 2nd grade students are eager to be hands-on in learning experiences! Hands-on learning creates engagement.
My Project
The items in this project will supplement a variety of past projects. Our beanbags desperately need refilled with bean refill. Wobble cushions will help students who need to to channel energy as they sit in a chair. The extra book sets will supplement our classroom library.
Creating a bright, vibrant, kid-friendly space is crucial to student engagement.
The adhesive film will cover an old, outdated chalkboard and create a magnetic space. The pencil sharpener is a must have in any classroom. The rechargeable battery set will keep our classroom microphone in working order. Students deserve a workable, fun space and that is what this grant will provide.
