My students are a group of diverse learners at a Title I school. Many come from low income families that face many challenges. Despite these challenges, every one of my students has the potential to be successful in their own way. They are so creative and never stop surprising me! My goal is to provide my students with the tools they need to reach their full learning potential. These supplies would give them a learning environment where they feel comfortable and focused!
My Project
Each day, I greet my students at the door with a big smile. I strive to make them feel welcome and valued, thus empowering them to learn and be successful.
My students are bright, eager, funny, and active, which makes every day a unique learning experience.
Teaching in a Title I school with students of varied socioeconomic backgrounds certainly has its challenges, but does not limit what makes my students so special.
They love to move, but they are limited by the traditional classroom furniture within our room. With less than 15 minutes of recess per day, I'd love to provide them with more opportunities to learn actively and comfortably! Looking around our school, most classrooms don't really offer students the opportunity to move around and expend their extra energy. Wobble and yoga ball chairs would be great for our guided reading groups. After reading some articles, I found out that these chairs increase blood to the brain, exercise the core, and help improve student focus.
My goal is to give all students more chances to move throughout the school day without being disruptive. Having this project funded would result in greater student engagement, less disruptions throughout the school day, and increased student performance. Please help my students "move" into a successful school year!
