"You are the best teacher I ever had!" These are words that keep me going each morning and motivate me to work hard to meet the needs of each student that I teach. These students face their own struggles every day at home and the classroom may be the only 'break" that they have to get away from their reality. It is my job to allow them to be kids and do what they do best... LEARN!
We have finally made it back to our school after 2 long years "visiting" different campuses.
Yay!
A majority of our students are high poverty and on the lower end of the socioeconomic status. I teach 90 4th grade students. My students are eager to learn and I want them to have the best learning experiences this coming year and to be among the best.
My Project
The wallet card magnifiers will be used to create a model of the human eye. Students will explore how the human eye functions. The LED lights will be used to create a flashlight and aide in students understanding of how a circuit works. The vinyl gloves will be used to complete students' scientist costume that they wear during math labs. Dressing like a scientist allows students to take ownership in their learning. Lastly, the math task will be used to supplement learning in the class and allow students to practice the skills learned to ensure mastery.
These materials will allow for more engagement in the classroom and will contribute to students success.
