Help me give my students iPads to expand their learning during small group math instruction. These devices will be used to help support Tier 2 intervention as well as reinforce skills that are essential for success.
Edsger Dijkstra stated, "There should be no such thing as boring mathematics." The students that I am blessed to work with every day deserve to be challenged and driven to think about math differently. I currently work at a Pre-K through 4th grade elementary school that serves roughly 600 students from a variety of cultures, backgrounds, and beliefs. Although they are exposed to an array of technological tools every day, I believe that we can transform their way of thinking, problem solving, and creativity as we prepare them for an ever-changing future.
My Project
The use of iPads will greatly impact my classroom environment and student success. In my intervention classroom, students will use iPads during small group instruction to reinforce skills, assess their learning on Common Core standards and challenge their way of problem solving and thinking about numbers. Providing instruction that meets the needs of all of my students will be utilized with these iPad devices. Rather than printing worksheets for individual needs and progress monitoring, I can assign lessons and content that directly aligns to my students.
Having access to iPads would allow my students to take responsibility for their own learning.
