Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach a lively group of 22 eager learners at a 100% free or reduced-price lunch public school. All my students come from low socioeconomic status families that believe in education as the tool that holds the promise of a better future for their children.
My students come every day to school with the attitude to learn and have the aptitude to become successful productive citizens of this country and it is my goal to provide them with the best quality education.
Collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking are key skills that I explicitly and implicitly teach to my students. They work hard every day to grow holistically while displaying these skills that will prepare them for life.

My Project
The Powermylearning Family Engagement Innovators Program is a tool that will allow me to create meaningful interactions and relationships between the learning that is happening in my classroom and the families.
The students will engage their families in their own learning process through a series of dynamic home learning activities that put them in the role of the teacher at home.
This family engagement drives student mastery and social-emotional learning.
Parents will become partners in the learning process of their kids by partnering with the kids to complete collaborative activities together. They then send feedback to the teacher about the experience such as how well the child understood the concept or explained the lesson. This is done from their own phones.
