I teach a self-contained special education class in an inner-city high school. My students are the ages of typical high school students, but they learn at about the pre-K to 2nd-grade level. They absolutely love school and work hard every day. They are not the typical unaffected high school kids.
My school is in the Phoenix, AZ area.
The area is tough, but the school is absolutely wonderful. I have been a teacher here for nine years. Students at the school, and particularly in my classroom, treat the classroom and teachers like a family away from home. Everyone involved in the educational process is proud of the work being done in my classroom.
These STEM sets are perfect for the type of hands on learning that needs to happen in classrooms like mine. These items are engaging and different from any learning tool we have in our classroom, currently. My students will have the opportunity to work together on these projects, which will improve social skills and STEM skills at the same time. It will be great to have an activity that will be appropriate for learners of all levels. It will also be an exciting work for my staff and I. This is an exciting opportunity for my entire class!
