Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

From veterinarians, to nurses, and even professional athletes, these students dream big and they know that dreams are achieved by practicing habits of excellence every day. My school strives to incorporate science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (S.T.E.M.) initiatives into the classroom. Many of my students highlight math as their favorite subject. To keep math fun and engaging, students need to interact with numbers and apply the math they are learning in real world scenarios and hands-on projects. To maximize learning opportunities and time, proper work spaces and technology are required.

My classroom has recently been blessed with a classroom set of iPads to help bring my students into the 21st century.

We use our new technology with math and reading programs, and we also use them to research and collaborate with one another on Google drive. When completing activities on the math and reading programs, students often need headphones to listen to the instructions or to letter sounds and words being pronounced.

The students need a quiet environment to do math and reading programs. We are in need of 15 headphones. This will help with the quiet environment to help students.

My Project

My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are given a choice of a quiet environment to work.

The students need headphones for a quiet place to able to concentrate during their learning time.

The quiet classroom will help most students to be on task.

I will be excited to see the students all engaged at the same time. That way I can work with small groups. These students are in a low economical home. I want to give them the best opportunity to succeed.

Thank you all for your help for my 5th grade students to have a tranquil classroom.
