My Project

The COVID-19 pandemic has interrupted learning over the past two years by forcing students to sit for hours behind a screen and limiting their engagement with their peers. My students will use these supplies in hands-on learning activities that incorporate teamwork. These CPR manikins and the training AED will be used in a CPR/First-Aid lesson, in which my students will learn and practice the steps in the Chain of Survival. Additionally, my students will use the stethoscopes and blood pressure cuff to learn how to measure a patient's vital signs. These items will be reused for years to come, enhancing the learning of several students.

These supplies will not only equip students with the skills needed to save lives, but also improve their social, emotional, and mental well-being through Social-Emotional Learning.

By learning what to do in emergency scenarios, students will learn relationship skills and responsible decision-making, two of the Social-Emotional Learning competencies. My students are driven and caring, and this project will give them life skills as they strive to reach their goals.
