Celebrate Black Teachers and Students
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
Our students are wonderful, hard workers who are excited about what the future holds for them. In a school that does not provide job training, we are taking it upon ourselves to show these students what is available to them when they walk out of the school doors for the last time and take the first steps into their promising futures. The use of these supplies is only the beginning to our students discovering their passions and abilities.
Though often looked down on, taking care of a work environment is no small task -- it is something which goes beyond the walls of a job. Training for the future is not only applicable to the workforce. These are skills that will benefit their social lives and their roles in the community. Our students will not only be learning to look for how they can take care of their work space -- they will be learning to look for how they can take care of each other.
