My classroom is filled with a diverse group of energetic 5th graders in a Title 1 school. Many of my students come from bilingual homes. Our school provides free breakfast and lunch to its students.
My students are curious and motivated to find ways to help them learn.
They strive to find what works best for them so that they can be successful in the classroom, whether it is a different learning strategy or a seating arrangement. Together we are working towards mastering the skill of perseverance and one of our class mottoes is "I can't do this yet!" Everyday, I try to inspire my students to celebrate their growth in learning and their achievements.
My Project
Breakout EDU offers students a unique opportunity that is not limited to one subject. The Breakout platform is adaptable to all subject areas. Each Breakout EDU experience allows students to engage in hands-on problem-solving that is aligned to our state standards.
Breakout EDU incorporates all of the 21st Century Learning 4Cs (collaboration, communication, critical thinking and collaboration).
This platform can be used to introduce new content, review, and check for mastery learning. In addition to leveraging technology with the digital components of Breakouts, they are also easily adaptable and cross-curricular in nature.
Throughout the Breakout EDU classroom sessions, students work together to solve the problem at hand and "breakout" of the classroom.
