My Students

What is a fun and quick way to get the students motivated and excited about learning? It's technology, of course! The students clamor to play the latest apps- they're learning as they're playing games!

I teach a wonderfully curious and energetic group of third graders who like to explore many things.

When technology is involved, whether it's playing a game on the computer, creating an iMovie, exporting files, they are excited and engaged. Our school has a computer lab, which is shared by all the classes. We don't have access to the lab when we might need to explore more with technology.

My Project

The iPad will provide small group of students an opportunity to explore all the amazing apps out there. They can read eBooks together, practice their math facts, and travel to different places. Using virtual manipulatives will help the students who struggle with fine motor skills, since they can swipe with a finger. No worries about blocks getting lost or falling off desks! Having access to games and different apps will also enhance their learning since they will be so much more excited to learn with a cool tool!

In this time and age when technological advances are improving with leaps and bounds, having an iPad in the classroom to enhance learning is critical.

The students will gain access to knowledge by a different modality of learning.
