This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My classroom has been gravely affected by the coronavirus pandemic in that we have had to flip the traditional classroom learning environment into a total virtual learning platform.
Currently I don't have the necessary technological equipment capable of effectively servicing the needs of my 55 scholars.
My scholars are learning from home on devices such as personal cell phones, tablets, and their parents' laptops. The resources that I currently have to continue teaching are my Kindle Fire and cellphone, as my current desktop is not in good working condition for the task of teaching virtually.
My Project
The laptop device will help my scholars as I teach from home, to be better educationally serviced in a way that flips their previous traditional classroom experience into one that is virtually close to what they've experienced prior to the pandemic.
For instance, in the traditional classroom I was able to make the conversion into Google Classroom, Tinkercad, Study Island, and other virtual platforms of learning more effectively, because I had the technological capability to do so through the district-provided technology based resources.
Once I am able to have a viable technology based resource tool for my instructional teaching, I can expound on the digital learning platforms used previously in the traditional classroom setting.
Being able to teach virtually from my previous virtual platforms will make the teaching and learning transition due to the pandemic less stressful and more cohesive for both myself and my scholars.
