My Students

My students are bright young females from surrounding communities that are taking an interest in their own physical fitness. They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically.

My students are passionate about health and wellness, taking pride in themselves and being positive for others around them through this project.

My Project

This allows students to see exactly how physical conditioning can help them burn calories without being too strenuous on their body. We are showing that any amount of physical exercise can be tracked with the heart rate monitor.

We are going to be graphing our data that we receive from the pedometers to see how raising our heart rate and the number of steps taken correlate with calories burned.

We are doing various activities everyday to see how we can elevate our heart rate and journaling our daily steps and calories burned. The students will also be monitoring calories consumed to see when there is a positive and negative balance, how that affects their health.
