Help me give my students items such as a Bristle Block set, Froggy Feeding Fun, Feed the Monkey Fine-Motor Game, and Spike the Fine Motor Hedgehog to develop fine motor skills!
My students are mainly preschoolers with special needs who have serious medical issues. As a hospital school teacher, I work with kids who are waiting for organ transplants, bone marrow transplants, treatment for rare illnesses, and treatment for trauma. I also work with kids who are not able to attend school due to medical problems.
Like all children, my kids love books, art, music, building things, doing puzzles, and pretend play.
I work with each child one-on-one in his or her hospital room, at the Ronald McDonald House, in the Children's Hospital Clinic, or in their homes.
My Project
Froggy Feeding Fun, Feed the Monkey Fine-Motor Game, and Spike the Fine Motor Hedgehog all have something in common: they make learning fun for students while helping them develop the skills they need to be successful.
The key to learning for young children is to find activities that are naturally appealing and that develop skills at the same time.
These materials will make a difference in the lives of my students by providing them with developmentally appropriate activities that are also appealing and enjoyable. Kids with special needs are children first, and these materials will help me make therapy an exciting time for learning.
