We live in rural Maine with limited resources and a high level of poverty. The students in our school need to be supported to succeed academically and find how they best learn. I teach junior high level mathematics in a small school. My students enjoy the flexibility of learning in small group environments and with teachers who look after not only their academic needs, but their needs as a whole. The more we encourage our students to succeed academically, they more they will thrive throughout their lives.
My Project
I am the homeroom teacher for 20 7th graders. We have one-to-one technology in our classroom so that means there are 20 Macbook Airs in my classroom as well. We have a laptop cart but it's not sufficient to keep the laptops organized and the chargers from getting tangled.
These storage towers will create a neat and organized area for our cherished technology.
We use our laptops for most every subject and our current organization is difficult for the students to navigate regularly and keep tidy. This will help us keep our laptops from getting broken, and the chargers from being tangled constantly.
