My Students

I teach all three grades of our small community middle school! My students are 98 curious learners from a huge diversity of backgrounds. Many of them were home alone or with siblings during distance learning, and they are thirsty for hands-on activities and interactive group-work!

My Project

As the only science teacher in our middle school, I differentiate lessons for a huge variety of learners. Since I am often the only adult in the room, my goal is to run the classroom so that all of our needs are met harmoniously. After over a year of being away from a traditional classroom, all of our learners are reacclimatizing to being in a group, having patience and to getting information from each other, instead of our phones or tablets! The supplies on this list will boost my curriculum with tier one, basic physical supports for my students.

My students are noticeably more engaged with their work when they can burn some energy while doing classroom work.

We used to have several thin chair leg bouncy bands, but they broke! Upgrading our chairs with bouncy seat bands will be very popular. We also need to burn energy with our hands. The fidgets toys can be used as non-disruptive rewards for students as they complete tasks.
