My students are from a small town in Alabama. We have children from all cultures, areas, and various incomes. Our school is a Title 1 elementary school with almost 50% Spanish speaking families. Our PreK program is the first group to be in this school. We are under the 1st Class PreK Program. This program is for children 4 years old and provides a hands-on learning experience for them to develop socially as well as academically.
Our energetic preschoolers enter the classroom ready to learn, discover, and explore every day.
They joyfully draw pictures, build structures, and pretend play throughout the day. They beam with pride as they proudly identify letters and discover sounds with hands-on learning!
My Project
I have requested sensory resources for my students to use. My students will use the sand and dino kit in the sensory center. They will cover letters and numbers with the sand and dig for them. This will create a fun and exciting way to recognize both letters and numbers. The dino kit will also be used with the sand buckets to help develop my students' fine motor skills. This will help enhance their ability to hold and control movements when learning to write and draw.
The bubbles will be used to create a fun and learning experience to help develop gross motor skills as well as social skills like sharing, and developing friendships.
