My Students

"The More We Get Together, The Happier We'll Be." This song is the way our class begins each and every day. This is the time of day when we discuss our day's activities and projects.

Our school is located in the city of New Haven.

Every child in my class receives free breakfast and lunch. We are an urban turnaround school that is making both academic and social gains. We work as a team in pre-K. Each child is an individual that is valued and respected.

My Project

This sand and water table will add a daily dose of "hands-on" play for my active preschoolers. Sensory play is an incredible way to enhance a young child's physical, cognitive, and social skills. It would be so exciting to be able to offer these kiddos a daily chance to practice using eye-hand coordination and fine motor skills.

A sand table built for two would also lend itself to cooperative learning and sharing.

I can just imagine the conversations that will erupt during center time.

This table is also clear! What a way to explore science related topics, such as sink and float!
