My students come from various socioeconomic, race, religious, and cultural backgrounds. They are bright-eyed and excited about learning. My students love learning and engaging in meaningful activities.
Our classroom fosters a love for learning through different experiences.
Many students do not have the background knowledge that you would expect a child their age to have. I try to provide students with experiences that will impact their lives not only while they are in my classroom but that they can take with them throughout their lives.
My Project
Playing math games is a fun way for students to practice not only important math, but social skills as well.
I am requesting hands-on area and perimeter manipulatives, the Pop to Win!
math game, and interactive pens that will give immediate feedback to students. These games will review all of the concepts that 3rd graders are expected to master by the end of the year. My 3rd grade students really enjoy playing math games because they get to work with different classmates and practice 21st century skills such as communication and collaboration. A variety of games will help them develop their number sense as well as help learn to strategize and communicate with their peers.
