My students are vibrant young learners deserving of the best education possible. I teach at a Title I school where the majority of students come from low-income single parent homes. Over 80% of students are on free or reduced-price lunches. Each of my students has the potential to do great things in their lives.
My goal is to provide my students with all the necessary tools they need to be career ready and life-long learners while exhibiting the 3 Ls: love, laughter, and learning!
I want my students to walk into my classroom every day with the expectation that this day will be even better than the day before. I want to open up their minds to the gigantic world outside of our tiny community.
My Project
Competing with the ever-evolving world of technological advances can be a real challenge in the classroom. So every bit of technology that I can pull into my Social Studies class the better. With this set of Touch and Learn USA Maps my students will be able to have an interactive experience while we "travel" throughout the United States during the school year. The Oklahoma fourth grade Social Studies curriculum isn't the most exciting for today's youth.
With the help of these interactive maps, my students will be able to learn our content in a different and exciting way.
The Touch and Learn USA Maps will help me have another teaching tool up my sleeve for those really trying days. These interactive maps will also help us ditch the paper-pencil work that the students often dread and they are perfect for differentiated instruction! So meeting the needs of all of my students will be a little bit easier with these maps.
