I teach in a Title I school. My students are awesome, hard-working kids; however, they struggle in the classroom with reading and math. I teach intervention math and reading classes for students in grades K-6th.
As a Title I school, we all work hard to close the achievement gap for our low-income students.
We never want a lack of technology, materials, or learning aids to hinder the high levels of learning that we all strive for and know our students are capable of.
My students struggle for a variety of reasons, but I know with hard work and determination from them and myself, we can do amazing things!
I am requesting totes for some of our classroom books and cassettes. These totes will provide a safe, organized simple solution for storing our books. Currently, we do not have a way to store these books that provides easy access. These totes would be a great addition to our classroom library.
I am also requesting new magnetic white boards for our students.
Students love to use white boards! We use white boards for math and reading, which cuts down on our paper usage. We currently have old, scratched and stained boards that we use. The students would be thrilled to get new boards to use during math and reading groups!
