Totally Terrific Tutoring Totes

Help me give my students personal storage bags for their homework and tutoring supplies as well as the supplies to make each bag as unique as they are.

My Students

Our young students, grades Kindergarten through 5th grade, are working to keep up academically with their peers but need an extra level of encouragement and support.

They are wonderfully curious and want to do their best, but they may lack the confidence to work independently.

They can't wait to go to tutoring every Thursday and are anxious to grow and better themselves. We work with our local retiree teachers and high schools to provide a one-to-one tutoring relationship. They spend an hour each week focusing on literacy and math skills.

My Project

These students are participating in an after-school tutoring program and need the totes to keep their own homework and projects organized and recognizable.

Being able to customize their tote helps them to take ownership and responsibility for the work contained inside.

They feel like they have their own space when we provide a tote for each student.

The individual totes also help the tutoring program run more efficiently and help us to spend time working with the students rather than sorting resources. We only have an hour each week to work on literacy and math skills as well as provide and homework help that they might need.
