Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are the best. They come to school wanting to learn and ready to learn. Although the area is surrounded by violence, the students' appetite for learning is amazing. They are the most loving kids. They love to explore new adventures. We are a small self-contained special needs classroom.

We are in a high poverty school area.

Budget cuts have made the learning process difficult. If I could reach in my pocket and change the world for my students by giving them everything they need, I would. Unfortunately, I can't do that. There is hope with DonorsChoose.org.

My Project

These three tablets will be a great addition to the one we have. The students are learning sounds and blends and it is quite difficult when we share one tablet. Paper and pencils do not motivate the students. Their unique learning styles adapt well to technology. These tablets will be great to have. With these new tablets, my students will be able to independently take control of their own learning while making progress in the right direction.

My students are more engaged in their work and less distracting when they are given resources that make learning fun.
