Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is a Title 1 school that focuses on SEL (Social Emotional Learning) and high academic achievement. My students are sixth through eighth graders and outstanding kids! They are multilingual and multi-talented. They have great opportunities in my class and at our school, but they deserve more.
Our students are eager learners and active participants in our school community.
Because our school is a Title I school, funding is a continued challenge in our community. Our students depend on teachers' out-of-pocket purchases and donations to access materials beyond the requirements. The generous support of the DonorsChoose.org community makes many learning opportunities for my students possible. Please help support my amazing middle schoolers!
My Project
I am requesting the full set of Zambobazo’s eBooks in order to diversify my instruction and student practice. This set is plentiful!
With these eBooks, students are way more engaged in their learning!
They have fun and are more eager to develop their Spanish skills! Whether in multimedia or print format, this eBook set offers connections to authentic Spanish related people, places, and famous creations. Students can learn about Frida Kahlo while drawing a replica of one her famous self portraits. They can practice pronouns while listening to and dissecting lyrics in a Shakira song. These eBook resources are way more engaging and exciting that the textbook practices. They are far more responsive to my students than the boring and limited textbook, especially for my Spanish for Spanish-speakers.
There are targeted vocabulary and grammar practices based on authentic texts. There are geography integrated readings and skills practices. There are fine art integrated verb conjugation practices. The list goes on. I will use these tools to differentiate student practice, for literacy stations, for instructional variety, and choice menus. Your support in this is much appreciated.
