Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach second grade in a small PreK-12 unit school. Our school is low income, but my determined group of students won't let that stop them. They look forward to the new and exciting materials, technology, and resources at school and I would love to give them more!
My classroom is full of eager to learn students.
They come in each day ready to learn and always brighten my day. I love to see the amazement on their faces when they learn something new. Help us have the resources and tools we need to do so!
My Project
When you think back to your early school years, what do you remember most? Worksheets or Experiences? I am looking to give my students more exciting experiences in the classroom.
Benjamin Franklin said,
"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I'll
remember. Involve me and I'll learn."
I want my students to learn everything they can, not just remember about it. My students will be completing reading and math activities as part as a detective unit. I am requesting exciting detective materials such as, magnifying glasses, Top Secret notebooks, and pencils to record their clues "text evidence" for the mysteries. We also need some decorations to "set the stage" for our unit. The investigation tape and footprints are sure to get my students engaged in our academic mystery!
