Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Students at our school come from the vibrant city of Chula Vista, in Southern California. We have a wonderfully complex campus, which is home to one of the most diverse student bodies in our district. Our students range from medically fragile to those who are supported entirely by general education.
Students at out school demonstrate a spirit of inclusion and are gifted daily by the genuine reciprocal connections they make when they celebrate each others differences and support each other's needs.
In this endeavor, our student's leadership within our district is a source of pride for our entire staff.
Our students are joyful and stubbornly resilient, and humble this appreciative music teacher.
My Project
Providing each of my students with their own individual recorders will make an incredible difference for their music education. Currently, I only have 30 recorders that I cycle between all of the students at my school site! Boy is that a lot of sanitizing! And with only 30 recorders, students are unable to bring them home to reinforce those music skills we have learned in class!
By donating to our project, you will help students to prepare and perform recorder music while also helping to develop the values that come with owning your own instrument: the responsibility of keeping your instrument safe, and the dependability of bringing it to and from school when you need it!
Recorders are a great instrument for students to learn, as those skills transfer well to instruments they may elect to play in middle school and high school. Help us to get recorders into these kid's eager hands!
