Help me give my students another opportunity to fall in love with reading. Cartoons are inviting and encourage even the most reluctant of readers will love this TOON Books collection!
I have 20 very curious and energetic learners. They are excited to be reading and love it when they are recognized for their efforts. These 2nd graders have curious and eager learning minds that want to learn and grow. They are amazing and respectful learners. We are a public Title I elementary school located in an urban neighborhood in North Las Vegas, Nevada. Our students come from diverse backgrounds and include many English language learners. Our campus has a very high level of economically disadvantaged students. We have no PTA at my school which can make family engagement nights difficult. We do not have the donations, staff or funds to provide raffle baskets. Our second grade this year is responsible to provide one literacy basket. All of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Some students take home a backpack of food for the weekend
My Project
I am always amazed at how kids are so attracted to cartoons. Learning to love to read is so vital to students' success in school - all subjects and life.
I am excited to see my students fall in love with these "TOON" titles.
