My Students
I am a third grade teacher. A lot of my students are English Language Learenas. I have a high hispanic population. I also have several students with special needs. They are from low income families. I have been recently trsnsfered to this school and I would like to meet the vast needs of my students. I want to see them develop strong reading, Writing and math skills so they can have a good future. It has been proven that children who are readinag on grade level at the end of third grade stand a greater chance of success in the future.
My Project
My students are from low income families. They often come to school wthout the tools they need on a daily basis such as crayons, pencils, markers, highlighters, folders... As a teacher I need to make these tools available to my students. By having these tools available in my classroom for each student no student is lacking what they need to complete a task. My students need highlighters when they are reading to highlight the main idea and key details. They need colored pencils .... to make diagrams and modules in reading and science. These stools are also useful when they are creating their own stories.No student will feel bad because they don’t have markers or colored pencils... it allows for equality In the classroom and affords each student an equal opportunity for success. Their income level will not impact them having what they need in school.
