Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As you all know, children are full of natural curiosity. My scholars investigate, question, and process the wonders around them. We are especially riveted by meaningful and purposeful hands-on experiences. We love to explore.
We are always on the lookout for new experiences that might ignite a spark and inspire learning.
My students are able to hone their 21st century skills by analyzing, synthesizing and evaluating information and then using that knowledge to tackle challenges that give them the opportunity to collaborate, communicate and be creative.
My Project
Our classroom does a lot of hands-on craft projects. We cut, glue and create. Just this week we made a hot air balloon prop for our winter performance- and the students had a difficult time cutting through the cardboard. We have used hot glue guns for too many projects to mention- but this week we realized that some are going bad... and getting only low temperature glue guns would be safer for the class to make things like our Happy Noon Year's celebration hats. And don't even get us started with cutting paper in straight lines.
We all could use the paper trimmers to help cut our student-made projects such as dance tickets.
