This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
As a first year teacher I teach my students to be artist, dreamers, believers, and so much more. They go above and beyond their community around them, even at a young age. As a Title One teacher I try plenty of out of the ordinary approaches to better expose my students to the world around them that go beyond their abilities.
Though my students range from well below grade level to above grade level, each student works in their own way for success in all content areas.
My students come beyond their struggles of learning, environment, and self doubt. Being the only first grade teacher that teaches both social studies and science we strive to expand past the boundary of standards and indulge in our own interest; financial literacy, government, community helpers, and so much more.
My Project
I am a first year teacher, still looking for the proper tools to better enhance my students' ways of learning. As a professional, I look at online webinars and go to PD and induction classes every month. The many things I have learned I have applied either in whole group or in small group.
The OSMO and the tracing of the letters will help their cognitive learning through hands on activities .
Given the chance to be exposed to these things my students will be able to work on their own and in groups with these tangible items and will see a huge difference in their own work.
