This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach in a Title I school. All of the students receive free breakfast and lunch. Most of the students in my class have challenges accessing technology at home.
My students benefit from when information is shared using various methods.
My students love to use different forms of technology in the classroom.
My students are very creative, intelligent and spontaneous.
They are eager to learn new concepts and are equally excited to engage in new activities to reinforce these concepts. They work hard to improve their skills and strive continuously to be a part of our community of leaders.
My Project
My third graders are so eager to learn. The third grade curriculum introduces them to many new concepts.
Scholastic Reading and STEM magazines provide my third graders with reading materials that reflect recent trends in their world.
The pages are colorful and are filled with information that is written so they can understand it. Scholastic provides online resources that support all readers. The science magazine will help build analytical thinking skills and increase student interest in the STEM field.
Dry erase markers and write-on plastic pockets can be used as students practice their math skills. Large post-it paper and flip chart markers are use for making anchor charts or for students to display their brainstorming ideas. These charts can be display in the classroom for students to refer to. The large magnetic easel will hold anchor charts and be used to a mobile whiteboard. It is portable and will be useful as the students move around in centers.
