Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach students with mild to moderate disabilities in a combination Pre-K, Kindergarten and 1st grade classroom. Children at this age, no matter their abilities, love to learn, play and make friends! Our classroom will provide a safe and loving environment for students to achieve academic success as well as social-emotional support.
My Project
As a first time kindergarten teacher last year, I wasn't sure what I would really need for my classroom. After some time, I've been able to see the important items that need to be added to or replaced in my classroom.
My young students will be able to learn better in our whole group and small group settings with improved materials.
Pocket charts and sturdy chart stands play a big role in many activities in our classroom. We will ultilize them as a whole group during distance learning and in small groups when we return to the classroom. My students will also benefit from white board accessories for their small group work.
