This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I proudly teach third grade. I work in a Title I school where all students receive free breakfast and lunch and 80% of students live in poverty. Our school is situated on the east side of Indianapolis, where crime is high and abundant. Many of my third graders have faced unimaginable obstacles, and have gone through things no child should ever have to.
I make it my mission to make all of my students to feel safe, respected, and loved.
The classroom that we share together is a place for learning and growing. We have awesome kids, thank you for supporting them!
My Project
My students are hard workers, and they need materials that will support their hard work. Our current pencil sharpener has seen much better days. Since our pencil sharpener isn't really functioning, students have to go across the hall to use another teacher's sharpener. What a disruption!
My worker bees thrive during station time, their focus and engagement is amazing while they're at stations.
To make our limited station supplies last, I would love to get all the materials needed for their station work laminated. Laminating these important materials make them more durable and long lasting. These laminated station materials will support students in math and literacy.
