Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are ready for success! My students are very economically disadvantaged kids that look to strive in life. Notebooks, pencils, crayons and knowing that people care are the most important tools for their success right now.
Our school is an educational center that ministers literacy to very economically disadvantaged students.
The dedication of most of my co-workers and staff members is the beginning of the students understanding about society. Shaping a good image of society and building their character in spite of their challenges is a top priority for this school and its Administrators. In my case, as a Bilingual Teacher, these students are learning about a strange culture that can prove to be not just impressive but generous.
My Project
There is not a moment in our day, except for Ancillary and recess, that we are not using a notebook, pencil or crayon. Even to read we use them as pointers, as they know that is the most important tool they possess to express themselves forever. These materials are very basic, nothing fancy at all, they will be used and utilized daily without hesitation for as long as they are physically in my classroom.
A student without a pencil is like a soldier without a rifle.
A student without a notebook is like a gladiator without a shield. Nothing in this world could express without colors. The impact that any of the donors could make in the students under my care will be remembered almost every minute of their daily lives, as they grow into choosing education over any other of the dangerous paths that their immediate surroundings can offer them,
