My students need the Active Learning Stools as a tool to keep their bodies active and their brain focused. The bar stools and roller chairs provide the students with choice and comfort to do their best.
I truly adore all of my students. Each year brings its own obstacles. However, this year has really pushed my students and I to get out of our comfort zones. Currently, I have a large number of students with special needs that are integrated into my classroom. To make them really feel like a part of this classroom, flexible seating matches up perfectly with their instructional needs.
This year especially, I find that my students love to be working around their room rather than sitting in their desks during independent time.
I have been trying to incorporate different seating options around the room through my own funding. However, I cannot continue to fund the changes, and our classroom can't fit any more seats. Not having the desks in the class for students will give us more space and give the students more options.
My Project
I am choosing to use flexible seating because it meets the needs of my very diverse learners. It is a tool to help my students learn not toys to make the classroom more fun. Students are responsible for choosing a spot where they feel the most comfortable. Thus, better allowing them to do their best. Flexible seating also allows for better collaboration among my students. They are able to sit with a partner or a group to collaborate on a project because there is more space in the classroom. The opportunities made available through flexible seating will have a large impact on my classroom.
The supplies I have chosen will help my students to be comfortable in our classroom and to do their best at all times.
I ordered these specific tools because I believe that they will have the biggest impact in my classroom. The wobble chairs will provide my students that have more energy with a place to get their wiggles out in a positive way. The bar stools and roller chairs provide the students with more comfortable options to sit and collaborate at.
