Help me give my students tools to help them focus by using fidget tools and help my students read what I write on the iPad during math instruction by using an Apple pen.
Fourth grade is a great time to experiment with science and the world around us. Fourth graders are learning about themselves and what they are interested in and what makes the world spin.
My group of fourth graders this year are active and eager to learn.
They want to learn and they need the materials to do that. Do you remember your fourth grade teacher? I do, I loved him and all he had to share with us.
My students love their teacher and they eagerly learn all I have to give them.
My Project
Help me give my students sensory tools and objects that will help ground them, help them focus and relieve stress.
These kids come to us at all levels academically, as well as various levels socially/emotionally.
Some kids have self-regulation skills if they are sad, sick, angry, etc. Others need those skills modeled for them through co-regulation.
They are willing and want to learn! Help these children utilize strategies and tools to make their day go smoothly! The fidget toys are sometimes needed for my students to let out some of their anxieties and feelings they can't quite put into words at this age. These students often have feelings they can't vocalize and with these fidget tools, they will be able to take out some of their feelings using strategies that I can help them learn how to use. My hope is that they will able to let out some of their feelings that they don't quite know they have or how to let them go.
My students come to school every day wanting to learn. They can do this better if I have an Apple pen to use on our class iPad. During math, we use our class iPad often, and with the Apple pen, I will be able to write equations that they can read instead of guessing what the stylus has put on the screen. They are excited and curious about the world and how they can contribute to our classroom culture. I encourage my students to find their strengths and use them to make the most difference and to also acknowledge their weakness and work hard to grow and improve.
