This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are all Hispanic students participating in a Bilingual Program. They belong to a Title 1 school and most are on free and reduced lunch. They are determined to be bilingual in Spanish and English and take pride in their primary language. They strive to learn 2nd grade standards in both languages that are challenging, but comprehensible for a brighter a competitive future. What brings me joy about this classroom is their desire and determination to be Bilingual and proud members of society.

My Project

Classrooms are like a box of chocolates!! You never know what size or shape your students will be. In my classroom students have been growing and outgrowing our small 12 inch chairs that are 20 years old. In order to learn, students need to feel comfortable. Comfortability equals active listening, participation, and student success. Knowing that my students have adequate seating will promote daily attendance and positive attitudes. It will also provide mobility within the classroom with safe and adequate swivel legs and gliders. Students will be able to work in small groups. near or away from their tables with ease. They also are easy to stack. Let's get this comfort started!
