My students need a toner cartridge and 2 cases of paper forour science classroom.
I am New York 6th grade science teacher in a Title I school. This year our school is making a huge effort to go green. Most of the students' work & lessons are done electronically. But final projects & reports must still be printed out for their work portfolios. My students need ink for our printer.
I teach the entire 6th grade of English Language Learner, Special Education, Gen Ed and Honors.
My students work hard and often support their mothers and fathers by running household errands and watching younger siblings. Unfortunately, another thing that my students have in common is that their families are struggling financially. Within my school the majority of the students qualify for the state's free or reduced meal program. Some students even reside in shelters. Due to the budget cuts schools are facing, teachers in my school are no longer able to personally give each student the resources they desire. Supplying my students/classroom with this printer toner would be a small step, but it would give us one less obstacle to overcome.
As part of the new core standards, students are required to understand the many ideas and concepts from all fields of science. I try my best to make lessons interactive and engaging with the use of technology but some items still need to be printed out such as final reports, essays, letters home to parents, progress reports etc. I am requesting a toner cartridge for our classroom printer in order to accomplish these tasks. I am also requesting 2 cases of paper to print on.
Toner and paper are vital necessities in order for a classroom to run efficiently.
