My Students

My seventeen third graders are from a rural school district starting the school year with successes, diverse backgrounds, and needs. All of these elements bring a recipe for successful learning this school year. These individuals, that I am proud to call my students, show a very clear and strong work ethic.

Our elementary school has approximately 150 students in attendance.

Our building is along a state highway in the southwestern corner of the state. Our school has been praised for outstanding student behavior and academics on a regular basis.

My Project

This book will not only educate about the effects of bullying, but the ultimate goal is to provide students a more in depth perspective on the need to show compassion, sensitivity, acceptance, and tolerance.

Students need to see many examples that show that it is okay to reach out to their peers in need.

This book, will aide in this process. Students know about the word, "bully", but they seldom know what it does to students and how it makes them feel. It is of great hope this book will provide the inspiration to other students to reach out and extend a friendly hand, which is the best way to counter bullying.
