Lack of access to period products harms the attendance rate of students. Studies have shown attendance rates increase by approximately 3% when students have free period products on campus.
The items in this wishlist will help us set up period product baskets in each of the bathroom stalls on campus.
Additionally, the makeup canvas bags will be used to conceal the products to help students navigate the stigma of carrying period products to the bathroom.
These items will give our students access to the hygiene items necessary to feel comfortable at school and to feel secure in their self esteem when carrying period products into the restroom. This project will be an ongoing effort on our campus. This project will get us started with our quest to end period poverty for our students.
