My Students

My students are the best! Most need working headphones to support their communication disability because processing information is much easier when written information is converted to speech. Many students also need calculators, which helps them to process multi-step problems by reducing anxiety and the load of information on their memory.

My students are curious learners with a wide array of needs.

My kids work hard with the tools we have, but with options like noise-canceling headphones, they can work even harder.

My Project

My classroom needs a new set of headphones and calculators.

Many of the headphones have fraying wires or missing ear cushions and some headbands have broken.

Looking for the right set of headphones can be a stressful task for my students, so bringing them new headphones will ease their anxiety and make everything easier for them.

In terms of calculators, I just don't have enough for the number of students who need them. A few calculators are so old that the keys are sticking. These problems can actually make it harder for my students with a learning disability.
