Together Even The Smallest Can Achieve The Greatest Goal.
Help me give my students hands-on science experiments so we can grow our own plants. Help us stay organized with our independent work, with color coded bins.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The only thing I can really say is all of my students are unique, amazing and I love them all. I teach at a special needs center school in Jacksonville; this means that every student in my school is considered special needs. My class consists of students who have autism, ADHD, Down Syndrome, and intellectual disabilities, to name a few. What I try to teach my kids is that their disability does not mean they cannot do things, we just need to do it in a different way. I strive to ensure that each day I make my classroom not only a place where they learn and grow, but also have fun.
My Project
This project allows you to help a class full of high school special ed students succeed. We are asking for 3 sets of 6 colorful bins with lids to replace our current broken task box center where the students work on independent skills. We are asking for hands-on science equipment, such as plant experiments, test tubes, and microscopes, to get fully engaged in the mysteries of science. We are also asking to build up our social studies unit with some hands-on, economic centers that can help for after school life.
Lastly, we are looking for supplies that are the life's blood of special ed teachers, velcro and laminating sheets.
These are so needed in any special education classroom as we have to make so many visuals and need them to be durable to have a fighting change. All of these materials will help us to grow and succeed.
