I teach in a Title I school which means not all of my students can afford school supplies. But that does not stop them from showing how uniquely special they all are. Each one comes from a wide range of backgrounds, interests, experiences and challenges. All these things shape who they are as individuals, learners and members in our educational community.
As their teacher, it is my job to nurture these individual and diverse learning needs.
All my students deserve the individual attention that they need to experience growth and success in my classroom.
My students represent the future of our growing city and country and are eager to learn and do their best. I look forward to providing them with a safe, rigorous and comfortable classroom to help them invest in themselves continue their journey into shaping our future.
My Project
At the beginning of the school year, I want all my students to have the materials necessary to be confident when starting school. This includes, pencils, notebook and basic art supplies. Many of my students come from an underprivileged background and often time their families have a difficult time providing these materials, which not only puts them at a disadvantage for a positive learning environment, but creates a social emotional deficit that can often cause disruption in their individual learning.
The donations to this project will help improve and build my students' confidence and give all my students the opportunity to experience the scientific world and not just learn about it.
My students will not only have their basic supplies, but be able to use these supplies to look at different forms of life all around us. The microscope slides will allow students to get a small view into the world at a cellular levels. Students will be able to look back at their notes and colorful diagrams that will help them apply these observations to the world around them.
With these supplies my students will be able to engage in the scientific world by looking at different objects on a microscopic level. Please help my students have a successful start to this school year.
