Working in a Title 1, books are so important to my students and are truly valued in the classroom. My students always wonder when I will put new books into our class library.
When students have access to a large variety of books, there are more options for them to choose something of interest and develop that love for reading.
Like anything, reading takes practice and having a volume of different books allows my students ample opportunities to do this.
My Project
These books will continue to provide a large and diverse classroom library that I strive to create. Books are a large part of our classroom community. We are always reading books, as a class, in small groups, or independently. Our books are truly valued in the classroom and students LOVE when new and diverse books are added to the library.
By having a large variety of books, students have ample opportunities to choose something of interest to them and develop a passion for reading.
The best way to increase your ability to read it to practice and having these books will help my students become stronger readers. My students have already expressed an interest in reading, in a variety of forms, and this project will continue to foster that interest.
